1. To oversee the implementation of the transport objectives contained in the Sustainability Policy 2000 which committed the University to: -
· Establishing a rationalised transport policy,
· Encouraging the use of public transport, and
· Providing improved facilities for disabled people, pedestrians and cyclists.
2. To advise the Sustainability and Environmental Advisory Group and Central Management Group of the active measures necessary to deliver the Integrated Travel Policy, including:-
2.1 Travel Plans for each College or zone
2.2 Improved Management of Parking
2.3 Improved facilities for vehicular, cycle motor cycle and pedestrian movement between University sites
2.4 Improved parking and access provisions into buildings for disabled people and
2.5 Reduction of the use of single occupancy vehicles
3. To facilitate increased awareness of transport issues and consult with the entire University community on both academic and residential sites on travel transport options.
4. Monitor the procurement and management of University Vehicles outlined in the Vehicle Policy 2001.
5. To review progress against agreed targets and report annually through SEAG to CMG on implementation of site specific Travel Plans
