The School Education Committee (SEC) is a sub-committee of SPARC and has responsibility for the strategic overview and enhancement of taught programmes and student experience within the School of GeoSciences.
Remit of the committee:
- Responsible for the School’s learning and teaching strategy and policy (includes curriculum development, feedback and assessment, technology enhanced learning).
- Strategic overview of all undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.
- Strategic overview of the student support model and its implementation.
- Approving new or major programme and course proposals arising from its sub-committees in advance of Board of Studies and College approval; including ensuring viability of programmes and courses.
- Oversight of marketing and recruitment strategy for taught programmes.
- Discuss issues referred to them by its sub-committees.
- The committee delegates responsibility for operational management of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes to the following sub-committees: UG Education Committee, Postgraduate Taught Education Committee, and School Student Recruitment Committee.
